RACETRACK/
Although the racetrack at Miller Motorsports Park is world-renowned for its competitiveness and safety by professional racers, the public can have fun on it, too!
If you want to race, MMP has created its own amateur racing series, the Miller Park Racing Association (MPRA) for cars and the Masters of the Mountains Series (MoM) for motorcycles, to build local and regional racing. We also have two karting championships (the Icebreaker Kart Championship presented by HeritageWest Credit Union and the Utah Kart Championship) and the Utah Supermoto Championship, all of which race on the Miller Kart Track.
If you want to go fast but don’t necessarily want to race, you could try an Open Track Day. We have these for both cars and bikes, and it allows you to go out on the track in a non-competitive setting. First-timers must complete the Track Orientation Rider/Driver Evaluation (TORDE), which includes a 20-minute classroom training session, a ride-along in a van driven by an instructor to show you the way around the track and a instructor ride-along in your car to observe your driving, before you are allowed out on the track by yourself.
You could also consider taking a course from the Miller Performance Training Center. These run the gamut from our very popular Teen Driving School, Winter Driving School and Highway Survival School to a variety of on-track, high-performance courses through the Ford Racing High Performance Driving School. These programs range from a ride-along with a professional driver in a track-prepped Ford Mustang GT to a two-hour “Mustang Experience” that puts you behind the wheel and half-, full-, two- and three-day racing schools. The Ford Racing High Performance Driving School can take you all the way from novice to licensed racing driver, or anywhere in between.
Another option is something that’s new for 2009, “Wide-Open Wednesdays” (WoW). On the first Wednesday evening of every month from May through September, we will offer a variety of low-cost opportunities for fans to come out and have fun at the track.
